This was another review build, again, pretty much straight out of the box. I ended up having to paint the stripes on the cowling, and cut the stars out of the supplied decal and apply them separately, as I just couldn't get it to work as a single wrap-around decal. Otherwise, it was a pretty decent build.

Nice one mate! Whats the metallic paint? As for the decals, i've never seen a kit with so many decals in my life! :-)

I can see a mask set coming up soon to sort out that decal wrapping problem ;-)

Cheers,

Alek

Thanks, Alek. A mask set for this scheme would be great! The markings on the rudder are decals too, which I somehow just managed to make work. Should've painted them too, but being a review build, I tried to use what was in the box as much as possible.

Oh, I forgot to mention: the metallic paint is Alclad Polished Aluminium, but it didn't come out as highly-polished as I was hoping. Control surfaces are Tamiya AS-12.

Alclad is good but those that amazed me are Mr. Metal buffable paints, tricky to work with and seal though. Looking good for sure!

very nice!

How were the rest of the decals to work with?

I've heard mixed reviews on them.

Shawn, on this particular kit, the main issue with the decals was that they had a tendency to just stick fast as soon as they hit the model. They're also super thin, and wanted to crease and fold up at the drop of a hat. You can check out my struggles in my build thread on LSP:

Lovely work Kevin, would like one of these at some point... Lots of potential for schemes.
